About
The sixth generation of the Honda Accord appeared in 1997, and in the United States it was available only as a four-door sedan or a two-door coupe. This model of Accord was also the first to be fitted with a pollen filter in the cabin, to help those with allergies. Various engines were offered, from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder VTEC engine, through a 2.3 four-cylinder and up to a 3.0-liter V6. A five-speed manual gearbox was standard on all four-cylinder Accords, with a four-speed auto available as an option. Base DX trim basically came with seats and a windscreen as standard – there was no audio, no central locking, no electric windows, and only steel wheels. Thankfully, other trims were far better appointed. At Haynes, we have an extensive range of Honda repair manuals and online maintenance procedures available for professional mechanics and DIY car enthusiasts. Our Honda Accord repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
